Things We Cannot Do

God will never expect us to do something we cannot do. He created us. He knows what we are capable of better than we know it. He knows all things. Success is not accomplishing things anyway. Success is trusting and obeying the Lord.

1 John 5:4: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Abraham did not succeed in killing Isaac. He succeeded in trusting and obeying the Lord. God has never and will never instruct any of us to do anything as evil as killing our sons. He only instructed Abraham to do that. Abraham passed his test. The point is that for Abraham, not attempting to kill his son would have been worse than disobeying the Lord. It is a strange and interesting fact that the majority of humans believe that surrendering to the Lord Jesus is a bad thing. They believe that the most wonderful thing they could do is a bad thing. Talk about ignorance and confusion.

Have you ever tried and failed at what you believed the Lord wanted you to do? And then seen Him accomplish something better? Have you ever prayed for something and then watched Him accomplish something better or give you something better?

Ephesians 3:20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Do not expect to always be able to see and understand what He is doing. He is ALWAYS God and He is ALWAYS doing things that are abundantly above what we are able to ask or think. Do we fully understand why Jesus instructed us to pray: Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven?

It is because His will is perfect and ours is not, and His knowledge is perfect and ours is not!

Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Divine order of things is that we FIRST present our bodies and THEN our minds can be renewed. A renewed mind will learn that it is immeasurably inferior to the mind of God and will always be. It will grow in its ability to trust the Superior Being and His will and His motives and intentions.

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

The best understanding that we can have is to LEAN ON HIS.
